Northside parent portal includes the desktop version (Parent Lounge) and mobile App (Parent Orbit App). This parent portal allows you to stay updated with your child’s school records and progress.
Northside Parent Portal
You can access:
- Upcoming events
- Northside newsletters
- Academic reports
- Parent-teacher interview bookings
- Student timetable
- Extra-curricular signup
- College handbooks
- College Policies
- Assessment calendars
New-to-Northside parents: you will receive your login via an email from the Northside IT Helpdesk in early January (or your student's start date if commencing during the term).
All parents must ensure the following information is correct for:
- Address and Contact Details
- Emergency Contacts (You will find it in Address Details by scrolling across the top bar)
- Student Medical (Medicare Card, swimming level, medical conditions, allergies)
- Occupation/MCEECDYA details for government reporting (You will find it in Student > General Details > MCEECDYA Details)
- Residential status/visa (If this has recently changed, please advise the College by emailing parentlounge@northside.qld.edu.au)
Username and password
If you are a new family, the Northside IT Helpdesk will email your parent portal login information in early January or on your student's start date, if commencing during the term. Please email the College (parentlounge@northside.qld.edu.au) if you need further assistance. Instructions to download the App and set up notifications are here
How to update your address and emergency contact details
Select Update Address Details from the top menu under Parent Details Tab to check your address details.
- To update emergency details, select the UPDATE ADDRESS INFO button.
- Ensure you select SUBMIT CHANGES to save the information. (Note: changes do not appear immediately).
- Email any Parent Occupation Changes to parentlounge@northside.qld.edu.au
How to update parent occupation details
Select Parent Details and check occupations on the right-hand side.
If you are not currently in paid work but have had a job in the last 12 months or have retired in the last 12 months, please use your last occupation.
If you have not been in paid work for the last 12 months, please identify as not currently working.
How to update student medical details
Parents can now view, edit, and update Medical Conditions and relevant Action Plans (e.g., Asthma, Anaphylaxis) for their student/s. To do this:
- Accessing Medical Details
- Select ‘Medical Details’ under ‘Student Details’.
- Click on the relevant Medical Condition.
- View the Action Plan by clicking the document icon.
- Adding a New Medical Update
- Click “+New”.
- Select a condition from the drop-down menu.
- Choose “Y” or “N” for Severe Condition.
- Enter a brief description of the condition and symptoms in the text box.
- Click “+Submit New”.
- Uploading an Action Plan (for conditions requiring one, e.g., Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Seizures)
- Click “+Add” to upload a new Action Plan or view the existing one.
- Select the file name of the new Action Plan (PDF format).
- Click “+Submit New”.
- Annual Verification of Medical Details
- At the start of each year, all student medical details must be verified in Parent Lounge >> Student Details >> Medical Details tab.
- Click on ‘Medical Details’ and press the green ‘Verify’ button.
- Review the current medical conditions and attachments
- If the information is correct, click the ‘Verify’ button and then ‘Submit Verification’.
- If the information requires changes, make the necessary updates and submit them with relevant Action Plans for review. Once accepted, complete the verification process as above.
Important Notes:
- This process must be completed for each student.
- Updates will not appear instantly as they require College review and acceptance.
- Parents are expected to review all Action Plans regularly, especially at the start of each year.
- You will receive a confirmation email once any submitted changes are processed.
