It was a day of joy, nostalgia, and gratitude as Northside Christian College marked its 40th anniversary on Tuesday with a vibrant school-wide celebration. From staff dressed in iconic ‘80s fashion to students enjoying icy poles and free dress, the campus was filled with excitement as we came together to honour four decades of Christian education.
At exactly 12:00 pm, the Founder’s Bell rang, and classrooms across the school erupted in song as students and teachers sang Happy Birthday. Junior and Secondary School representatives collected icy poles for their classmates, ensuring every student had a sweet treat to celebrate the occasion. Meanwhile, staff gathered to enjoy a delicious birthday cake, reflecting on the school’s journey and the many lives it has impacted over the years.
Adding to the significance of the milestone, every Northside family will receive a special commemorative book today, compiled by long-time staff member Mrs Bev Starrenburg. The book captures the history of Northside—from its humble beginnings to the thriving school community it is today—highlighting stories of God’s goodness, faithfulness, and provision throughout the years.
As the day concluded, one thing was clear—Northside’s story is far from over. With a strong foundation of faith and a passionate community, the next chapter promises to be just as inspiring as the last.
