The Educator, leading online education magazine in Australia, has named Northside Christian College as one of Australia's leading schools in the prestigious 2023 Innovative Schools list.
This recognition is a testament to Northside Christian College's commitment to innovative education, following a previous award in 2017 and a runner-up accolade in 2019.
Principal Leighton Kuss stated, “Our roots in Christian education have always driven us to pursue excellence, and we believe that by coupling our rich tradition with innovative educational approaches, we can truly prepare our students to excel in mind, heart, and spirit.”
The CEO of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), Chris Duncan, emphasised the importance of innovation in education, by saying, "An innovative school needs to approach innovation less for its own sake but for how it directly benefits students and their development. Sometimes innovation is understood as doing things in radically different ways, but innovation can be achieved with smaller, more subtle changes, with significant effect. Real innovation leads to practices that fundamentally change the way we do things."
This award follows Northside’s recognition as the ninth top-performing co-educational institution based on the 2022 ATAR results (Art of Smart), with an impressive 65% of its students achieving scores surpassing the state average.
