The Great Ping Pong Race
On Tuesday 31st August, the whole school came together to watch as almost 2000 ping pong balls were released outside the College Hall, all the way down to the Junior School. It was a colourful and bouncy event, with perfect weather and great music provided by the Senior School Chapel Band.
Students from Year 10 managed the inaugural event, which was designed to raise money for missions. The team undertook promotions, sold ping pong balls, ran extremely technical simulations, and emceed on the day.
Over $700 worth of balls were sold, generating valuable funds to support our sponsor children, our Valley Street Mission, and kickstart funding for future missions trips.
Congratulations to the winners on the day, and thank you to everyone who supported this event!

Year 7 Mission Simulation
The Year 7's ran a simulation to represent the difficulties many children in third world countries face including child labour, trafficking - and just how difficult it can be to earn enough money to survive. They had to make and sell paper bags with all sorts of deadlines and challenges along the way. The Year 7’s enjoyed this experience and, even though it was just a game for them, they responded well to the message that to many, surviving is not a game. They were able to have an important glimpse at what others around the world have to face.
Weekend Without
We live in one of the most privileged nations on earth. Australia ranks 2nd in the Global Youth Wellbeing Index. It’s very hard for us to know what it’s like to go without... because we don’t.
Students fasted from food, technology, talking or furniture to raise money and awareness for theChildren of Afghanistan; Hope House girls home in Chennai; the East Africa famine and the vital work of Destiny Rescue.
An incredible total of $19,227 raised for these four charities, and many students also gathered to pray for our school and these charities at the annual Prayer Vigil.
