In 2019, Joshua K. (in Year 10 last year) participated in the Lord Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (LMYAC). This was a wonderful opportunity for Josh to contribute his ideas and be involved in a wide variety of events and discussions. Click through read some of the impressive achievements of the LMYAC.

Some of the achievements of the LMYAC included:

·       Providing ideas for the Victoria Park Vision

·       Discussing and sharing ideas about raising awareness of mental health and ways to address stigma

·       Volunteering at Council-supported community events, including running donation drives and participating in Homeless Connect, hosting stalls at Youth Week and participating in the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade.

Through his involvement in LMYAC, Josh has developed his leadership skills and gained valuable experience by participating in Brisbane’s civic life and exploring grass roots community issues. Well done Josh!
