During the recent holidays, Emma T, Kenna B and Hannah C attended the Australian Flute Festival held at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. The 27 participants of varying abilities learnt about the different types of flutes as well new techniques to improve their performance and how to play weird noises you would not expect from a flute. The students worked with professional flautists from the UK, Abigail Burrows and her husband Gareth McLearnon. Abigail has played in musicals such as Wicked. They taught the students a great deal that will benefit them for the rest of their flute lives.
