The Community Life Committee (CLC) is a volunteer group comprised of parents and past parents, who meet with school leadership and topical attendees, to support the Board and management in understanding the quality of community life for our Students, Parents, Teachers and Employees across Northside Christian College and Next Steps Kindy.
We meet on a quarterly basis to review the experience of all college stakeholders and discuss how we can work together to create an even better experience. The types of things we consider include:
- Educational elements (Academic, Educational support, student services)
- Pastoral care
- Sporting and other Co-curricular activities
- Staff, Student and Parent experience and engagement
- Marketing and communications
- Key projects underway
In our last meeting, we had an overview of the National Principles for child safety and how the College works diligently to create a safe and supportive environment for all our students. We heard about the support that exists for students through our College counselors and how they respond to individual needs. We also heard about the Junior School’s Bridge Builders Program and discussed how the framework comes to life across the different year levels.
The CLC is here to help build an even better College and Kindy for the future! So, if you have feedback or views you want to share, send your thoughts to us via the feedback survey or just say hi when you see us out and about at school events. It is a privilege to serve the community in this way!
From Kelly Barnes, Les Hanaway, Jane Hockey, Grant Johnsen, and Joanna Robertson.
