During Monday lunch times in Term 2, year 5 and 6 students have had the opportunity to use robots to explore coding. Students have begun coding Spheros to change colours and follow a set path, and even make them dance (a favourite for students)!
Students can also use their creative design ideas with Makey Makeys. This inventive tool allows students to turn everyday objects into a keyboard or touchpad, which are then coded via a computer program to perform an electronic function.
Early years teachers are beginning to use new coding robots in their classrooms too. Children now have access to Blue Bots and Cubetto. Students can take Blue Bot or Cubetto on adventures, teaching them directions and sequencing in a fun and interactive way. These digital devices make coding simple and accessible to all students in the Junior School.
