Retreats can be unforgettable experiences of the heart and soul for Christians of any age to develop their relationship with God. They are especially needed for youth and young adults in their increasingly busy, stress-filled, young lives. Retreats offer a time away from their ordinary atmosphere and day-to-day environment.
In return, teens and young adults gain concentrated time learning how to spend time with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and a true deepening of faith. They can learn to be comfortable with silence and their own mind and thoughts, whilst connecting those with the God whose deepest desire is to be let into that space to bring peace, order, clarity and a deeper understanding of their true identity as one who is made in the image of God.
Northside’s desire is to “raise disciples of Jesus; educated and equipped for any future.”. A retreat encourages our students to develop a strong and vibrant Christian walk. To help them establish rhythms that help them navigate the chaos of the urban, digital age, where it’s easier than ever before to “gain the whole world, and yet lose your soul.” Retreats offer the space to experience “Silence & Solitude” as the number one practice for apprenticeship to Jesus. Simply put, it’s a moment of intentional time in the quiet to be alone with God.
