School Bus Drivers

Would you love the flexibility to work mornings and/or afternoons? Have you considered School Bus driving?

We are seeking qualified Bus Drivers to join our friendly, professional team. Successful applicants will enjoy working with children of all ages, be committed to providing excellent service, and strongly support the college's Christian ethos.

Casual or Part Time hours available. Generally hours range between 10 - 30 hours per week and can be morning bus runs operating between 6.15am – 8.30am and/or afternoon shifts of 2.15pm – 4.30pm weekdays, during school terms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Ability to build professional, friendly and supportive relationships with all members of the community
  • Safe driving record with prior bus driving or heavy rigid experience
  • HR (Heavy Rigid) licence or minimum of MR license
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A current (or able to obtain) Drivers Authorisation
  • Blue Card (for paid employment) for working with children, or eligibility
  • Mechanical experience highly regarded
  • An active Christian faith

Teacher Aides – Secondary Educational Support, Part Time

We are seeking dedicated and qualified Teacher Aides in our Secondary Educational Support team commencing January 2025.

These positions involve supporting specific students in our Secondary School (Years 7 – 12) to engage in all aspects of College life under the direction and supervision of Teachers within the department. They may include any of the following tasks:

  • Facilitating small group support to students with specific learning needs;
  • Working one-on-one with students with an individual support or curriculum plan;
  • Provision of general classroom support where required;
  • Playground support or supervision of students
  • As appropriate, build rapport with students and staff involved in the Education Support program.

Applicants looking for part-time (3 – 5 days per week) or relief work, term time, or work from 8.00 am to 3.15 pm are encouraged to apply. These roles are well suited to applicants who have experience working with students with additional needs.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Education Support is preferred
  • The ability to assess the need within a classroom setting and make adjustments to support as needed
  • A sound knowledge of Middle School subjects or the ability to learn content and processes quickly
  • Experience working with students with physical needs as well as social and emotional needs would be advantageous
  • A strong interest in supporting students' learning and working across a variety of classroom and extra-curricular settings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google for education (e.g. Google Classroom, Google Docs, Slides) and publishing software (e.g Canva)
  • An engaging manner and a warm rapport with children
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work as part of a team
  • A friendly, open nature and "can-do" attitude
  • Current Working with Children (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
  • Current First Aid Certificate

OSHC Coordinator, Part Time

If you are seeking a Part Time role as an OSHC Coordinator and are experienced in creating a safe, caring, quality environment for children then we need you!!

Northside OSHC operates an out-of-school hours care and vacation care program on the Northside Christian College campus that provides a combination of indoor and outdoor activities each day and are guided by children’s interests and abilities. In this role you will provide a warm and stimulating environment for primary school children and implement National Quality Framework practices to a high standard while contributing to the development of programs under the supervision of the OSHC Manager.

This is a permanent Part Time role, approx. 32 hours per week. Hours are as follows: Monday - Friday, 06:30 - 09:00 AM and 02:15 - 6:00 PM + additional admin hours. You can pick up extra hours during the school holidays too!

Who we are looking for:

We can teach you about Northside and the role, but there are a few basics you must have:

  • Must meet ACECQA requirements. Ideally minimum Diploma qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care) or have completed minimum 2 years of full-time study in a relevant field.
  • Enjoy working with kids.
  • Previous experience working in a supervisory or leadership role or display the qualities of a great leader.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • A team player that can develop good working relationships with students, parents, staff and the school community.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
